Flaming Lips 12 Part Mix

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Valentine’s was crazy for me, so I didn’t get to play with Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd (2 of my favorite Flamers). So if you haven’t seen this check it out. Here’s the instructional video straight from their flaming lips. Flaming Lips – Two Blobs Fucking – Instructional Video . And if you’re too lazy, or don’t know enough peps with iPhones, then here’s the 12 part mix flaming cocktail ready for you to consume.

Get A Daily Dose of Graphic Design History?

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Have time to surf the web, or expand your knowledge base of graphic design history? Well, unfortunately I typically don’t have much spare time, but when I do this is the kind of brain food I love. Hat’s off to Beth Kleber and Zachary Sachs for what they’re doing for the Milton Glaser Design Study Center and Archives. A wonderful job if recording, and cataloging some of the greatest minds in graphic design, and serving it up like a home cooked meal. Check out the Container List, and see what designers made without computers for design tools.”Container List is the blog of the Milton Glaser Design Study Center and Archives, featuring weekly graphics and ephemera from the design archives at the School of Visual Arts.”

Enjoy, have seconds, please.

Steve Frykholm: One of Three AIGA 2010 Medalist

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

It’s always great to see people that have inspired you—especially, people you’ve worked with in the past—receive their deserved recognition. Steve Frykholm, past client of focus2, has just won the AIGA’s most prestigious honor, AIGA Medalist. And what great company, the other two 2010 winners are John Maeda and Jennifer Morla. I’m very happy to Steve be recognized for this. He’s not only one of the great, trail-blazing designers, he’s a great person. My best to you, Steve.
